    SunTianyiwasgraduatedfromBeijingCatholic(FuJen)University,in1952andwasbestowedHonoraryDoctoralDegreebyBowlingGreenStateUniversity,Ohio,USA,in1994.HeisaProfessorEmeritusandformerPresidentofXianInternationalStudiesUniversity,HonoraryPresidentofShaanxiTranslationAssociation,andtheformerVicePresidentofTranslatorsAssociationofChina.Hehaswritten,translatedandreviewed:anumberofbooks,dictionaries,andEnglishtextbooks.
